I have always said that I want to teach second grade. During this rotation, I was placed in a fourth grade classroom. Although not automatically, I grew to love fourth grade as well. They are much more independent than the younger students are. It was quite difficult to judge their friendliness towards me, but in the last few weeks, they began to come out of their shells. I also learned a great deal from my cooperating teachers. They were both wonderful teachers whose passion for their students was obvious. However, I would find it difficult to decide if I wanted to teach Math and Science or Social Studies and Language Arts.
This semester has flown by me. I learned so much about the content areas, technology, and how important the Professional Attributes are. I believe that all teachers need to be flexible. I found many situations this semester in which I had to be flexible. Organization is also imperative. I was able to stay organized this semester with the help of my friends. Finally, punctuality proved to be another strength for me this semester. I got all of my assignments complete and turned in on time. I also arrived to school on time and ready to start my day. I believe flexibility, organization, and punctuality are the keys to surviving Quest 2. Thank goodness, I made it!
